may be because 148 or 149 can't be the cut off as last year cut off was 149 when paper was easy so now the cut off will be 139 or 140......... example- if any one's score is 155 so there will be 10 to 12 student having score 155 so for each mark 10 person are ther so the cut off can be 139 and less people will be having score more than 162 so cut off=139.

Friends, since most of the students taking tutions the expected cut off will be 142. It is again depend on overall performance of the toppers.However the average score of MAT will come down by 5 marks and SAT by 2 marks.Generaly some of the states will have edge over other states as per the previous results and their background. As SS paper was mostly from VII , scoring marks above 30 in SS is dificult, also marks above 14 & 34 in Maths & Science is good. Considering the above, scoring 65-70 is good in SAT and 80 in MAT is really good this year. The overall cut off should be 140-142
on may 17 at 10:57 it was commented upon that the total marks for the last year was 225. This is not correct. Same as this year it was 200 only. This year the Cut-off, as per the logical guesses, keeping in view the increasing awareness and better facilities day by day and also keeping in mind the difficulty level, will be ranging from 148 to 151. Infact the level of difficulty more or less was same. Infact MAT was bit tougher but the same was compensated with a lenient SAT. This year SAT was almost confined within the limits of NCERT (7th and 8th std). Maths was also comparatively easy. So going by all the reasons cut off for a general candidate would range around 149 only. However it is also to submit that many of the answers (around 6-7 especially in SAT), provided in this answer key, are wrong.

Friends, In the year 2011 the MAT average score was 90 and SAT score was 66 and the cut off for General Merrit category was 149. So this year I am expecting MAT average score will be 81 and SAT average score will be 68. So by adopting the same analogy of the previous year and with little guess the final cut may touch 142 or 143.plz treat this is my personal opinion and you have to wait for the final result. Not a good logic Abhinav the great....:( just to lower down the cut off... Go through the facts.. there were not 10-12 per no. As u go down the order greater the no. of selections are. Last year at 149 - 61; 150-68; 151 - 51 ; 152 - 41; 153 - 60; 154 - 53 and at 155 - 57 candidates were selected...Again I repeat the cut off would be in the range of 148 - 151....:)
Friends, Let us share our thoughts openly. So for we are observing only 8-10 persons expressed they are scoring more than 155. Each child feels that once the exam was over they are scoring around 160-165 marks but when you check with answer key it will be in the range of 140-150. Since the MAT paper was tough it realy affected the performance of the SAT paper though it was easy. Adithya, Dont worry. If you are to get it you will difinitely get it. Let us not listen to all these gossip. Unless the results are declared no one can predict what is going to happen. However, there are lots of differences between the answer keys of Resonance, Aryan, Allen and other such institutes. Even after the exam the reputed institutions to have so many differences how can a student of 8th std. answer these questions in a limited time of 90 minutes. The ambiguity in the questions itself shows that there will be something for all of us. I mean lots of bonus marks. Lets hope for the best.
Friends The average MAT score last year was 90+ whereas the average SAT score was 65. This year the MAT score average will be in the range of 83 and SAT score average will be 70. Hence the final cut off would be 142-143 by all means.
MAT was difficult. Score about 80 is good. Some last questions were difficult, not the level of class 8th students. Science was very very easy . Score about 35-36 is good. Maths was moderate . Some questions were really difficult and some were easy. Score about 15 is good. SSt was overall difficult. History was easy, civics was ok, geography was really really difficult. Marks about 25-30 are ok. Totally, In MAT, you should minimum score 80 and is SAT 70. There were lot of errors in the paper. 4-5 questions were wrong. 5-6 Answers of different institutes also don't match. So, from expected marks there can be +4/-4. So if you 're expecting 155+ you are sure to be selected. 150-155 students have 70-30 chance. 145-150 students have 40-60 chance. 142-145 student have less chance. >142 students have 10-90 chance.
But no been selected is not the end of world. You are selected in top 4000 students which is a big thing. There are many big scholarships like JSTS, KVPY,etc. So, don't lose heart and keep studying. One day you'll succeed.

I strongly believe that the cutoff wouldnt be lower that 160..Because the SAT paper this year was EXCEPTIONALY EASY last years paper was very tough especially the SST part this years SST was nothing compared to last year's even Maths was comparitively easy Science also could be easily dealt with..And MAT wasnt just too tough the average score of MAT this year would be below 85 and SAT score below 75..So the expected cutoff is 160.
Nilesh sir ... last year this blog owner - Sonal , predicted the cutoff to be 135 when the actual cut off went 149... this year also the cutoff will go high above your expectation .. i.e. around 160-165...
I believe that the cutoff will not be 148 since it doesnt depend on the conceptuality or toughness of the paper but on how much the candidates score. The score of the candidates solely depends on their preparation... This year the candidates were well prepared for a difficult paper since last year's paper was very tough.. so facing an easy paper resulted in high scoring amongst the candidates which in turn means a high cutoff. In my opinion the cutoff will be 155-165 or even more .
Resonance has not updated their rank prediction after NCERT has released the answer key for NTSE 2012. Based on answer key released and out of 192, what is the updated expectation of cutoff marks? Any idea?

In question no. 71 the answer should be the 4th option but ncert has marked it as a starred question and is not marking it.But I think the 4th option is correct and should not be starred.If anyone else also thinks the same please send ncert a feedback.

Hello, I went through all comments given by different states students and I surprisingly notice that all parents and students are eagerly waiting for the result but NCERT is taking so much time to release the result. We are in 2012 and do we realy require so much time to evaluate 4000 students objective type answer sheets. We do not understand why NCERT is taking so much time to release the results. Hence we parents request the authority to release the result at the earliest by maintaining the Integrity and standard of the examination.

I have been sniffing fluid for over a month now. I want to die. I dont want my parents to cry. Does anyone know how to die without pain..?? What should i do now..? Should a study more hard for JSTS( i live in delhi, i qualified with 11-15 rank in delhi out of 50 general)? Or should i quit..? Dear Prakhar, I am really sorry to say this but 185 is not enough for clearing stage 2 of ntse cut off is not expected to go below 190 in any case . I am getting 191 out of 192 and still am not sure what will happen. Better try your luck in class 10 . Kissi acche teaher ke paas padhai karo.
Hi Stopping kidding in this blog, please maintain the dignity expected of you. Any changes in NCERT answer key after 15.07.12. NCERT should come out with an explanation.
Please for heavens sake do not waste your precious time. I was always thinking that NTSE aspirants were time conscious and would not waste their time, but engage themselves into some constructive activities. Post comments if they help others in any way. I got above 170 probably so I'm quietly confident. MAT was very lenghty and i was barely able to finish but SAT was more or less easy.I agree that cutoff will be about 140(general).By the way did you know that 2012 onwards NTSE will again be held in Cl 10?!

Don't understand why NCERT cannot provide a confirmed date for result publication of NTSE 2012. The test took place in May, and even after alsmost three months results could not be declared. Has the answer key changed again? Has the number of successful candidates changed from 1000? All kind of speculation going on, can we all know a confirmed date and the cutoff and the revised answer key, if any
142 out of 192 will be enough for qualifying for the scholarships. Resonance has predicted that 142 will fall between 251-400 rank. Last years cut of was 149. comparing that and the difficulty level this year, the cut off will fall to around 138-139 out of 192. i just returned after giving ntse 2015 1st level exam . i think that i will get 150/200 few questions in mat section were wrong i think so,wasted a lot of time on those questions science n language were ok sst was little tough i am a general category student will i be selected for 2nd level????????

I think this year cutoff will be between 155 to 160.
may be because 148 or 149 can't be the cut off as last year cut off was 149 when paper was easy so now the cut off will be 139 or 140.........

according to the resonance marks predictor, i get 75 marks in sat and 87 marks in mat. total 162. what will be my rank as i doubt upon the result of resonance rank predictor.it says my rank will be 151-250.
I have scored 160 marks...Almost every1 I know has scored ATLEAST 150 marks ... And majority of them are in 160-175 score range...So I believe that in no circumstances is the cutoff going below 160 !!

@Rishabh ur score is queit appropriate to make through..You can easily make it through with a score of 160 or 160<...Interesting even I have the same score ;)

students should write their name with roll no. I am much interested to see their result who claiming above 155. Crossing 155 is really tough. Those students who crossed 155 and above are really brilliant or over age.

I strongly believe that the cutoff wouldnt be lower that 160..Because the SAT paper this year was EXCEPTIONALY EASY last years paper was very tough especially the SST part this years SST was nothing compared to last year's even Maths was comparitively easy Science also could be easily dealt with..And MAT wasnt just too tough the average score of MAT this year would be below 85 and SAT score below 75..So the expected cutoff is 160.

Nilesh sir ... last year this blog owner - Sonal , predicted the cutoff to be 135 when the actual cut off went 149... this year also the cutoff will go high above your expectation .. i.e. around 160-165...
I believe that the cutoff will not be 148 since it doesnt depend on the conceptuality or toughness of the paper but on how much the candidates score. The score of the candidates solely depends on their preparation... This year the candidates were well prepared for a difficult paper since last year's paper was very tough.. so facing an easy paper resulted in high scoring amongst the candidates which in turn means a high cutoff. In my opinion the cutoff will be 155-165 or even more .

As per resonance expert comment ( www.pccp.resonance.ac.in) this year MAT paper was tough and SAT paper was tough in geography.

In question no. 71 the answer should be the 4th option but ncert has marked it as a starred question and is not marking it.But I think the 4th option is correct and should not be starred.If anyone else also thinks the same please send ncert a feedback.
Please sir I request you to please upload your latest opinion on the expected cutoff as per the key released by NCERT...its really hard for an student to survive these 2-3 months before the result is declared without any information of the expected cutoff and their scope of selection...you will never understand what a child goes through all this while...but on your part cant you just support us by answering our querries...Please

Hello, I went through all comments given by different states students and I surprisingly notice that all parents and students are eagerly waiting for the result but NCERT is taking so much time to release the result. We are in 2012 and do we realy require so much time to evaluate 4000 students objective type answer sheets. We do not understand why NCERT is taking so much time to release the results. Hence we parents request the authority to release the result at the earliest by maintaining the Integrity and standard of the examination.

I am getting 79 in MAT and 80 in SAT. I know it is quite low and i will not be selected in NTSE. I studied hard, but i don't know why i scored such low marks. My parents are of middle class, they didn't spend anything on themselves, either they invested on me and sent me to a institute. My parent's exception are high and i dont want them to cry. They did so much for me and i couldn't do anything. I am feeling guilty. When I read Vagisha Sh.'s views i am now feeling depressed. I have started to starve myself and have quit my regular habits. I have been sniffing fluid for over a month now. I want to die. I dont want my parents to cry. Does anyone know how to die without pain..?? What should i do now..? Should a study more hard for JSTS( i live in delhi, i qualified with 11-15 rank in delhi out of 50 general)? Or should i quit..? Please reply quickly within 10 days as i will surely commit suicide by 20 July..

Dear Prakhar, I am really sorry to say this but 185 is not enough for clearing stage 2 of ntse cut off is not expected to go below 190 in any case . I am getting 191 out of 192 and still am not sure what will happen. Better try your luck in class 10 . Kissi acche teaher ke paas padhai karo.

Any changes in NCERT answer key after 15.07.12. NCERT should come out with an explanation.
Please for heavens sake do not waste your precious time. I was always thinking that NTSE aspirants were time conscious and would not waste their time, but engage themselves into some constructive activities. Post comments if they help others in any way. Else please do not use this blog to spend your time. Let us all wait and see who gets what. Only time is the answer for all this.

the results for 2nd stage will be declared on 15th august. I contacted NCERT for this information and it is surely correct.
NCERT is likely published results before 15th August 2012. They are not sure of dates. Hence, be patient for another 10- 12 days. please.
I got above 170 probably so I'm quietly confident. MAT was very lenghty and i was barely able to finish but SAT was more or less easy.I agree that cutoff will be about 140(general).By the way did you know that 2012 onwards NTSE will again be held in Cl 10?!
The noble gentleman getting 191/192 you are sure to be all India topper and this year 155 above is surely enough its never tht much and this time the paper was tough also.And if somebody gets 192/192 he can definitely be sure,last year the all india hioghest was just 186 so 191 is surely too much.You shall top tis year then

Don't understand why NCERT cannot provide a confirmed date for result publication of NTSE 2012. The test took place in May, and even after alsmost three months results could not be declared. Has the answer key changed again? Has the number of successful candidates changed from 1000? All kind of speculation going on, can we all know a confirmed date and the cutoff and the revised answer key, if any

142 out of 192 will be enough for qualifying for the scholarships. Resonance has predicted that 142 will fall between 251-400 rank. Last years cut of was 149. comparing that and the difficulty level this year, the cut off will fall to around 138-139 out of 192. Keep hope, lets face the turmoil as NCERT is trying to test the patience of NTSE scholars. All the best.

Going by answer key of NCERT, I was getting 145, but finally I have got 134.Any one else feel his marks are not as per expectation.This creates some doubt in my mind abt possible error in paper checking.
