Dear Sir,
My son VIPUL GUPTA ,a Resonance student, NTSE roll no 13010245 appeared
in NTSE 2010 but was awarded only 11 marks in interview and was short
of only 2 (two) marks in getting NTSE Scholarship. As suggested by you, I
requested NCERT under RTI to provide me following information
regarding National Talent Search Examination Interview conducted by
NCERT:-
1. To provide the copy of the response sheet filled by the Interview panel of my son VIPUL GUPTA NTSE roll no 13010245.
2. To
provide the copy of the response sheet filled by the Interview panel
for those students who have scored more than 22 marks in the interview.
NCERT
not provided the information ,so I filed appeal with Chief Information
Commissioner (CIC).CIC held hearing on 16.5.2012 and instructed NCERT to
provide pre-standardised marks obtained by my son during
interview.NCERT intimated that pre-standardised
marks obtained by my son, Vipul Gupta, Roll No. 13010245 in the interview board
of NTSE 2010 are 13 (thirteen). In this regard, it is intimated that during the
hearing held on 16.5.2012 at Central Information Commission it was mentioned
by NCERT that some interview boards are strict and some are lenient, therefore,
standardisation of the marks given by interview board is done. In the
present case, as my son was awarded only 13 (thirteen) marks out of 25 (twenty
five), so it is amply clear that the interview board was strict and marks
should be increased for standardisation as the lenient interview boards are
giving 25 out of 25 marks to many students during interview. However, my son
was awarded finally only 11 (eleven) marks in interview i.e. in the name of
standardisation 2 (two) marks were deducted which is not justifiable.
In view of the above, NCERT have been requested to look into the whole
issue as the purpose of standardisation is not fulfilled and many
students are finally getting 24 & 25 marks out of 25 marks in the interview
by lenient interview boards. But,no response received from NCERT.
Can you suggest next cource of action to provide justice to my son as he
was short of only 2 (two) marks in getting NTSE Scholarship.

Not qualifying in NTSE is not the end of everything and heaven is not going to fall. There must be many cases of this kind which doesn't come into notice. If your son is good, he will do good in his career. Don't worry and unnecessarily don't waste your time.
Sir...can you suggest me the books essential for NTSE
