Is NTSE loosing crediblity ?

NCERT has declared the result of NTSE stage 2. I have been getting the complains from the parents whose wards have not been selected for NTSE interview. NCERT should have gone for transparency by declaring the marks and rank of all the students who have appeared in NTSE stage 2 examinations. By not doing do it is raising doubt about fairness in the selection of this prestigious scholarship examination.

Though NCERT started on a very positive note this year by giving the question papers to students, however got lost somewhere in between. It would have done justice with the examination had it declared the marks, ranks and cut off for each category.

Parents and the students should exercise RTI act to dig out the information, govt exams are more susceptible to manipulation or tempering.

On checking the answer keys posted by you and aryan classes, my daughter is sure of 165 marks. But I can't understand her not being selected. When called NCERT , the marks , cut off nothing disclosed. I heard even RTI applications also will not be responded. what to do next? Is there any possibility of rechecking by NCERT? or Can we file a complaint case against them? Something has to be done yaar. I will not leave this issue unattended.

Yes surely!!
I am getting around 147 marks and at-least I expect to be called for the interview!!the expected cutoff was also 135 max Mat was easy but the Sat paper was tough for maths.
At least a student getting 145 and more marks should get through, but the results are not satisfactory!!

i am also getting 150-155 marks by the answer key posted by you and aryan classes..
but i did not get selected.i dont think that cutoff will be more than that..

I am getting 144 marks out of 200 as per the published answer keys and also to inform that around 7-8 questions were wrong in the MAT paper is Stage-2.NCERT Should also declare that what measures it has taken to fix this problem. If they give 8 marks to all candidates then i will be scoring around 152,which is a good marks, but i am not selected for interview only!!
Last year the cutoff for stage 2 was only 130.And this time even students getting more than around 145-150 were not selected!!If the cutoff this time is so high then it's a record in NTSE!!
What is NCERT doing??

Right! But I don't think NCERT will respond to the letters sent by the worried parents....
The best way is to complain about them!
It's not the first time they are questioned, last year also there were many cases like these...

these 5 people idont know who these fellows are but i can surely say that something in their mind has gone out of order. one is saying 140 the other shouting 150 and the thitd screaming 160!!!!

among theze 5 commentrs has anybody seen the section of ntse in www.aryanclasses.com it without any doubt says that this year ntse was tougher than previous years and cut off is expected to be 128(selection in interview). i did'nt tally my marks anywhere in the internet but i(AS I NEVER DO) , am sure i would have got about 135..........and i m there selected for the INTERVIEW......mail me at

only maths was tough this time. scoring 150 is not impossible and we have as well checked the answers with that of aryan classes and resonance. having known from aryan classes site that the cutoff is 128, we are only questioning as to why we have not been selected when we are sure of above 128

i do agree on checking the answers my score was good but not being selected is a great shock. I would like to get copy of my answer sheets along with answer sheets of toppers through RTI.

What NCERT is doing I feel is Correct. 'cause if it discloses the marks people would start sending letters to them that my ward missed by just 1 mark and that all stuff.
I have checked my paper with both aryan classes and the key by FIITJEE.
According to Aryan Classes I would get 156 marks and by FIITJEE I would get 169 marks. one thing I can say is that I personally found many answers incorrect in both the keys. So the are not correct entirely and we have no right to fight against NCERT on the basis of such keys
